It was tough to get up, even tougher to get out, but now... It feels great!

Me - a runner?

Little did I know that I was going to get keen on running, but suddenly I Findus myself planning to run 5K in a school competition in the beginning of June. So... How to manage that?

Well I'm using my iPhone of course! So three Apps is doing the planning, the coaching and the registrations.

Tomorrow I'm even going to get up early to run before work. How crazy is that?

A cold Christmas morning!

Only 15 degrees in the house when we went up this morning, but now the fire id on and I will soon go out to start a fire in the tub too.

Today it's Christmas, we hope that Santa will find us here in the cold.

Italia

Merano in Italy. We've been eating pizza and done some shopping. A beautiful place full with tourists. We came there 2500 m above sea level by the Timmelsjoch pass which was amazingly beautiful and now we are on our way back through the Brenner pass.

Alpenzoo

Yesterday afternoon we went to the Alpenzoo. We took a train up there. Oh, and I forgot to say that we were in a sauna place, Alpenbad, on Saturday afternoon. There they had lots of different saunas, I tried the infrared, the steam sauna and something called Kelo sauna (can anyone explain what that is?). I also took some baths in the cold pool. The Alpenbad was really nice and relaxing.

Innsbruck

We walked around Innsbruck for a while this picture is from Marienstraße. We had dinner at Mc Donalds. Me and the husband bought one bottle of Marillenlikör and one with Marillensnaps in a store where they filled the bottles with what you ordered.

Bergisel

Saturday night we went to a bar here in Haiming, it is called Oilers and is totally inspired of America. There are old american cars outside and on the inside they have an old car engine, V8, from 1963 which they start once every Saturday evening. They have special glass walls that they open up then. At Sunday we went to Längenfeld were we saw a yearly parade. The youngest of the Strobls played the saxophone in the parade and the Strobl father was the conductor of one of the orchestras which also started the consert that was held in a big tent. After we listened and had a little to eat we went to Ötzi dorf, were they showed how the life could be in the Stoneage. Ötzi was not there, he is placed in Südtirol. Yesterday we went to Innsbruck and started by going up in the Bergisel, It made me very convinced I will never be a ski jumper!

Heute fahren wir nach Innsbruck.

Wednesday to Saturday we were up in the mountains in the Strobls cottage. It's a wonderful place at 1084 m above the sea. One of the days we went higher up to Magdeburger hütte. There they had different animals and we went for a walk. Then we took a drink at the hütte. When we arrived at the Strobls cottage on the Wednesday it was 29 degrees and sunny but when we left on Saturday it was 9 degrees and raining. Me, the husband, the son and the youngest Strobl walked down. It took us about 45 minutes.

Today we are going to a water park.

Yesterday we had 32 degrees, and today it will be the same if you believe the forecast. The landscape is absolutely magnificent, I think I could live here. Then I would have to practice my German though ;). Later this afternoon we're going to Seefeld to visit Herta.

Österreich

Today we have been swimming in a lake called Blindsee. The water was about 19 degrees Celcius, and the air was warm and bright. We have been swimming, paddling, sleeping, eating... Just having a great time here with our friends, the Strobls.

Italy here I come

Going back to Guastalla where I were 5 years ago. That time as a teacher, this time as a headmaster. It will be interesting to see if I see it differently this time.

Brunflo

Nu har vi suttit här i några timmar. Solen skiner och man hade gärna varit ute i backarna istället! Skulle gissa på att det är minst 2 timmar kvar innan vi är framme i Åre. Så där gick nästan hela den dagen...
